2009 S.C. Pannell Rose Árido
We have changed the name of our Rose from Grenache to Árido to emphasise the dry nature of this wine, made entirely from 40 year old dry-grown McLaren Vale bush vines. The grapes were hand-harvested, crushed and left in contact with the skins for 36 hours to achieve the wines appealing colour and to enhance the flavour and texture. The wine exhibits aromas of fresh strawberries and cherries with floral hints of violets and Turkish delight. The palate has a juicy texture proceeding to a bone, dry finish. There are limited quantities of this wine, which has recently been awarded two trophies at the 2009 McLaren Vale wine show for the 'Best Rose' and 'Best Small Producer.' - Stephen Pannell
